As
a child I grew up in New York, but even so I marveled at the lady bugs
and caterpillars that appeared in the Spring, and the effects of the change
in seasons. Natures horizon was blocked by tall buildings and concrete.
Back then I was hypnotized by sunsets and the shifts of hue and color
that was to me a constant source of wonderment.
As
an adult I finally saw the rest of the country from a plane, then from
a train crossing; Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California, coming from
Miami Beach to Los Angeles. The impact of seeing big western cerulean
skies, everchanging mountains and those incredible horizons that go on
forever, from the train and then later from the car brought me back to
the wonderment I had of nature as a child. How could this not effect my
work?
